VSE magazine has been published by the Association Nationale des Docteurs ès Sciences Economiques et en Sciences de Gestion since 1960. The magazine is ranked by Fnege (Fondation nationale pour l'enseignement et la gestion en entreprise)(https://www.fnege.org/publications/classement-des-revues).

VSE is published by ANDESE, Association Nationale des Docteurs en Sciences Economiques et en Sciences de Gestion et du Management, founded in 1953. ANDESE receives no public subsidies. The VSE magazine is driven by the desire of PhDs trained in French universities to contribute to the development of management sciences in other fields, by supporting the VSE magazine.

One of ANDESE's development priorities is to enable young researchers to find a high-quality French-language publication outlet. The production of research articles in French helps to maintain and develop the French-speaking academic community in management science. This position is perfectly illustrated by the special issue published each year by VSE and devoted to the ANDESE thesis prize. The jury, made up of professors of management and economics, awards a prize to the best thesis published in economics and/or management. Under the direction of Prof. Jean-Jacques Pluchart, then Prof. Jean-François Lemoine, University Professor of Management Sciences and current Chairman of the Jury, the selection of theses is eminently selective. On average, 3 to 6 of the 30 theses received each year are nominated, in addition to the winner.

The journal has been listed on the Cairn.info documentary database since 2005, and is included in the FNEGE ranking of general management magazines. Since 2022, VSE has been ranked 4 by FNEGE. VSE is also referenced in Cairn International. VSE has been listed in the American document databases Ebsco and Proquest for 14 years.

An original positioning at the service of cross-functional organizations!

To understand the ways in which wealth is formed, distributed and consumed in the twenty-first century, we believe it is essential to take an in-depth look at organizations in general, and companies in particular. In all regions, companies play an essential role in wealth creation, whether through their production, their participation in trade or their payment of wages. The scientific projects that result from this, through the research carried out by the scientific community, seem to us to be closely linked to the need to provide an understanding of these facts in the service of society. And yet, while there are several common structures in the academic field, VSE is the only generalist academic journal offering a forum for exchange between academic and professional specialists, between Management Sciences and other disciplines, between experienced researchers and young PhDs (this positioning is perfectly illustrated by the special issue published each year by VSE and devoted to the ANDESE thesis prize).

This generalist, cross-disciplinary positioning has been the hallmark of VSE since its creation in 1960. VSE has maintained a regular publication schedule over the years, providing a complementary perspective to the more specialized publications of our scientific communities. These two axes have been at the heart of VSE's DNA for all these years. VSE's generalist positioning is in line with the academic requirements of any scientific research approach. However, the need to decompartmentalize the expertise of each within a more general approach is essential to understanding current and future societal trends. Science requires in-depth expertise, which can lead to an over-specialization of results. This situation is a normal process in which each of us tends to contribute more and more to our themes. Quality scientific journals help to disseminate this work. VSE aims to complement these same journals by proposing a more transversal approach to some of those works, so that they resonate with more global societal issues. This cross-disciplinary approach should enable authors to question their work in the sense that they will be addressing specialists in their respective fields, but also younger PhDs, professional experts and other researchers specializing in other themes or even disciplinary fields...

This innovative positioning of VSE since 1960, which has been maintained over the years, has led us to consolidate our editorial policy along the following lines:

Contributions to VSE must be part of a process of generalizing approaches in order to broaden understanding of the disciplinary fields used;

Contributions to VSE must allow a certain transversality in the scientific contributions proposed (transversalities in the disciplinary fields, transversalities in the fields used, transversalities in the researcher/professional collaborations...);

Contributions to the VSE must provide a factual dimension to the contributions and managerial recommendations made.

VSE is committed to an ethical approach as an organization involved in its scientific community. As such, it applies the “European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity [1]” to its own processes. Each author wishing to submit an article to the scientific journal VSE undertakes to scrupulously respect this ethical charter. The editorial board reserves the right to refuse scientific contributions that do not comply with the values set out in this ethical charter.

Contributions to VSE are first submitted to the Editorial Board, which determines whether the articles can enter the evaluation process. Next, a double-blind procedure is carried out by members of the scientific committee and/or a professional concerned by the topic. The reviewers' comments are forwarded to the authors. Articles are only accepted for publication if they take account of the reviewers' comments. Any article submitted by an author automatically implies his or her agreement to publication in VSE's print and digital editions. The author(s) certify(s) that the proposed article is the result of individual or joint (collective) work and that the sources used are explicitly referenced in the biographical references appended to the article.

Since 2016, VSE articles on the Cairn.info database have resulted in 1,596,000 digital downloads.

Full-text articles are available on the Cairn.info and Cairn international databases.
