Abstract:

The aim of this article is to analyze the influence of psychological capital on the transition to entrepreneurial action on the one hand, and to verify the moderating role of social capital in this relationship on the other. To this end, a longitudinal study was carried out on 411 students at the end of their training at three establishments of the University of Maroua in Cameroon. The methodology adopted being quantitative, two questionnaires were administered: one in 2022 (to identify intentions) and the other in 2023 (to identify actions arising from these intentions). The results revealed by the structural equations provide pertinent details. Psychological capital encourages action through self-efficacy and resilience. Social capital moderates the relationship between self-efficacy and action through its weak ties’ dimension, the relationship between optimism and action through strong ties, and the relationship between hope and action through strong ties.
