Résumé :
Si savoir, c’est pouvoir, alors la démocratisation des méthodes de recherche pourrait se traduire par un renforcement du pouvoir d’agir des membres dans leurs organisations. Dans les Sociétés Coopératives d’Intérêt Collectif (SCIC) qui associent plusieurs parties prenantes dans leur gouvernance, c’est un défi au coeur du processus de production. Cet article propose d’explorer ce rapport entre démocratie participative et recherche-action participative (RAP) dans une coopérative à partir d’une expérimentation menée par des sociétaires (dont une chercheuse et un chercheur, qui ont écrit ce présent article), au sein de la SCIC ferroviaire Railcoop. Parmi ses 14 000 sociétaires, environ 800 sont impliqués dans 30 cercles de sociétaires. Cette étude de cas met en lumière les apports et les limites d’une RAP pour nourrir la démocratie participative d’une coopérative.

WHAT PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH AT THE SERVICE OF PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY AT RAILCOOP? BACK TO AN EXPERIMENT
Abstract:
If knowledge is power, then the democratization of research methods could result in the empowerment of members in their organizations. In multi-stakeholder cooperatives, this is a challenge at the heart of the production process. This article examines to explore this relationship between participative democracy and participatory action research (PAR) in a cooperative, based on an experiment conducted by two researcher-members within the rail cooperative Railcoop. Among its 14,000 members, about 800 of them are involved in 30 member circles. This case study highlights the contributions and limitations of a PAR to nourish the participatory democracy of a cooperative. The theoretical framework combines participatory democracy with surveys and PAR, drawing on the reference literature on the social economy.

¿QUÉ TIPO DE INVESTIGACIÓN-ACCIÓN PARTICIPATIVA SE NECESITA PARA PROMOVER LA DEMOCRACIA PARTICIPATIVA EN RAILCOOP? UNA MIRADA RETROSPECTIVA A UN EXPERIMENTO

Si el conocimiento es poder, la democratización de los métodos de investigación podría conducir a un refuerzo del poder de acción de los miembros en sus organizaciones. En las Sociétés Coopératives d'Intérêt Collectif (SCIC), que implican a varias partes interesadas en su gobernanza, éste es un reto en el centro del proceso de producción. Este artículo explora la relación entre la democracia participativa y la investigación-acción participativa (IAP) en una cooperativa, a partir de un experimento llevado a cabo por los miembros (entre ellos un investigador, autor de este artículo) de la cooperativa ferroviaria Railcoop. De sus 14.000 socios, unos 800 participan en 30 círculos de socios. Este estudio de caso arroja luz sobre las aportaciones y limitaciones de la RAP a la hora de alimentar la democracia participativa en una cooperativa.
