Abstract:
The implementation of a Human Resources Information System imposes security rules to protect sensitive data, but user compliance varies. Understanding this dynamic is essential for HR stakeholders. Based on 51 semi-directed interviews, we used the logic of contradiction and the theory of the relationship between organizations and organizational artifacts. Our results show that adherence to security rules evolves over time and context, in non-linear and rigorous manner. Users, faced with logical tensions, attempt to resolve these dynamic cognitive contradictions. We identify triggers that fuel this dynamic, generating new tensions to manage.
