Abstract:

This qualitative study aims to elucidate the psychological contract clauses and emotional regulation strategies of employees within an EHPAD (Residential facility for dependent elderly people) caring for residents with Alzheimer's disease, an emotionally demanding situation. Our results highlight a distinctive psychological contract, strongly tinged by the emotional dimension, which depicts the crucial importance of the emotional labor of these professionals. This theoretical contribution emphasizes the primacy of the emotional aspects of the psychological contract while underlining the fundamental importance of organizational and managerial support to accompany these professionals in managing their emotions.
